Brisbane Pride

Beyond the festival, Brisbane Pride delivers a range of community events throughout the year, including the Queens Ball Awards—the longest continuously running LGBTIQ+ event in the world—the Queer Formal, the Kal Collins Memorial Fund, and the annual Memorial Garden Ceremony at New Farm Park.

For more than 35 years, Brisbane Pride has brought Queensland's LGBTIQ+ communities together to celebrate diversity, foster connection, and champion equality. Our history is deeply intertwined with the milestones that have shaped our communities. We stood together during the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the face of widespread stigma and discrimination. We advocated for legal recognition of same-sex relationships, celebrated the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Queensland, supported the introduction and reinstatement of civil partnerships, and proudly campaigned for marriage equality.

Today, Brisbane Pride continues to honour that legacy by creating safe, inclusive and celebratory spaces where our communities can be seen, heard and valued.

Brisbane Pride is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led organisation. The success of our events is made possible through the generous support of our sponsors, partners, donors and volunteers. Together, we are committed to strengthening the health and wellbeing of LGBTIQ+ people and communities by fostering visibility, inclusion, resilience and a future free from discrimination.
