Western Sydney Community Forum is partnering with Western Sydney Community Legal Centre on a series of practical workshops for young people in the Cumberland and Parramatta local government areas. These sessions will explore:
- Understanding the criminal justice and legal system
- Supporting young people through legal cases
- Keeping young people out of the system
- Trauma-informed practice and what it looks like in real life
This session is designed for young people seeking to better understand their legal rights, as well as for professionals who support young people, including educators, social workers, and service providers.
Legal experts including Judge Skinner, President of the NSW Children’s Court, will take part in interactive Q&A sessions. They’ll be joined by representatives from key support services such as the Western Sydney University Justice Clinic and Legal Aid NSW Children’s Legal Service, who will offer practical guidance on legal rights, navigating the justice system, and accessing available resources.
Workshops are catered with refreshments for young attendees.
