<h2>SHUK Bondi x Bondi Social Cooking School | Thursday 11th March</h2><p><em>Hold on to your (chef) hats Social Cooks, we have a *VERY* special announcement...</em></p><p>We're thrilled to be welcoming German Sanchez, Executive Chef from cult  restaurant, SHUK, to join us for a special one-off cooking class, with a conscience. </p><p>On Thursday 11th March, German will be leading you through a range of classic Middle Eastern / Mediterranean dishes, including their now legendary Shakshuka! </p><h3>ABOUT SHUK:
</h3><blockquote><em>"The food we offer at Shuk is inspired by what we grew up within Israel, where the cuisine available is one of the largest melting pots on the planet, with food coming from a variety of cultures that migrated to the country from 130 different countries in the past 50 years. The menu is directly influenced by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines.
</em></blockquote><blockquote><em>Taking inspiration from the Hebrew meaning of market place, SHUK is located in the heart of Bondi, Chatswood &amp; Elizabeth Bay. It has quickly become one of the favourite meeting places for locals and tourists alike. We offer an incredible array of Israeli/Mediterranean delights for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We use the freshest produce and dishes that promise a flavour of Israel mixed with modern favourites."</em></blockquote><p>German has been a part of the team for 7 years. Argentinian born, he spent 7 years travelling in Italy to develop his craft. </p><h3>ABOUT BONDI SOCIAL COOKING SCHOOL:</h3><p>BSCS is a start-up social enterprise providing laid-back, fun &amp; sociable cooking classes with a conscience. 
</p><p>Bringing people together to create social connections and learn new skills, while giving back.
</p><p>Proceeds go to supporting the community and local charities, while the meals you make go directly into the hands (and mouths) of those in need.

Do good, feel good, make good.</p><h3>HOW DOES IT WORK?</h3><p>It goes like this: </p><p>Come along, have a laugh, meet new people, learn a new skill, create something delicious, taste your masterpiece, then donate the meals you’ve made to those less fortunate, as we partner up with some very special local charities, helping us distribute your dishes (that day) to members of your community who need it most.</p><h3>HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?</h3><p>$65 pp + bf</p><p>Proceeds from the events support BSCS, Our Big Kitchen, and feed the community and those in need.</p><h3>WHAT'S INCLUDED?</h3><ul><li>Drinks on arrival and throughout, wine, beer, soft refreshments</li><li>Snacks on arrival and nibbles throughout</li><li>2 hour interactive cooking class, including demos, step-by-step coaching and introduction to the cuisine</li><li><strong>Learn to make:</strong></li></ul><ol><li>Shakshuka</li><li>Hummus</li><li>Green Tahini (demo)</li><li>Babaganoush</li><li>Quick pickles</li></ol><ul><li>Relaxed, social environment</li><li>Music</li><li>Taste your creations </li><li>Group photos</li><li>Take-home recipe card</li></ul><ul><li><strong> Donate your food to those in need - </strong>Option to take home as much of your cuisine as you'd like to keep. Box up and donate meals to those in need, knowing that your efforts have supported those less fortunate! <em>*See below</em></li></ul><h3>WHO DOES IT GO TO HELP?</h3><p>We help you package up the meals you make to give to the homeless, working with our fantastic charity partners (including Canice's Kitchen, the Salvo's, Plates4Mates, Our Big Kitchen) to distribute them on our behalf straight into the hands (and mouths) of those in need after the class, putting 'doing good' into action, in real time.</p><p>Alternatively, you're welcome to take your boxed meals with you to distribute within your community yourself, or to donate them directly to a charity you support. </p><p>The Covid-19 pandemic has seen a huge spike in food scarcity, and we know there are many other groups doing fantastic work in this space, and needing additional meals.
