Are you interested in volunteering to be a Citizen Scientist for a morning in Opossum Creek Catchment?
You will need to be able to get up early, sit in the dark until first light to observe if a platypus comes into view & record the time & direction of platypus travel or how long it stayed in view. Your own transport is essential as there is no public transport to the observation sites. This activity is not suitable for children as it is a monitoring activity as opposed to a sight seeing activity.
We will meet Robelle Domain in Springfield Central at 4.30am to provide a short WH & S induction, & explain the site you will be allocated to on the day.
After the Platypus Watch observation is finished at 7.30 am, volunteers will return to a free thank you breakfast at Robelle Domain & opportunity to learn about these fascinating creatures in their natural habitat.
