Join Nath and Ads for an epic Social Walks expedition to the Great Otway National Park and Great Ocean Road.

This overnight camping trip features two world-class hikes, incredible scenery, and an amazing premium campsite that is also a koala habitat— yes, you’ll be sleeping under trees with koalas in them! 🐨

EVENT DETAILS 📍

🗓️ Date: Saturday 8 November – Sunday 9 November 2025

🕛 Start: Arrive from 12:00pm Saturday (check-in by 12:30pm)

🕔 Finish: Around 6:00pm Sunday (return to Melbourne, allow for later arrival)

📍 Meeting Point: Bimbi Park - 90 Manna Gum Dr, Cape Otway VIC 3233

ABOUT THE CAMPSITE 🏕️

🏡 Full camp kitchen with BBQs, gas cookers, fridge, kettles, wood-fired oven

🚿 Bathrooms, toilets and hot showers

🔥 Campfire area (permitted if no fire bans are in place)

🍳 Camp store with basic supplies available

👉 You must bring your own cooking and eating utensils

THE HIKES 🥾

Saturday: Station Beach & Crayfish Bay – 12km, 250m elevation, moderate

Sunday: The Canyon (Lorne Waterfalls Circuit) – 8km, 300m elevation, moderate

A good level of fitness is required for these hikes.

WHAT TO BRING 🎒

💧 2–4L of water for each hike (refills available at the campsite)

🥪 Lunches and snacks for both days

🍳 Food and drinks for Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast (fridge available in the camp kitchen)

⛺ BYO camping equipment: tent, sleeping bag, mat, pillow, chair, headlamp/torch

🩱 Bathers and towel for a cold swim

WHAT TO WEAR 👕

👟 Comfortable walking shoes

🧥 Weather-appropriate clothing for warm days and cool nights

🧢 Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen

🧣 Beanie or extra layers for night

AFTER THE HIKES 🍻

Saturday night: campfire cooking and BBQs at the campsite

Sunday morning: breakfast at Apollo Bay and a swim at the Jetty

Sunday afternoon: convoy to Lorne waterfalls hike, then head back to Melbourne via Geelong

GOOD TO KNOW ⚠️

🔞 Ages 18+

👨‍👩‍👧 Kids are welcome but must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times

⏱️ Overnight trip – plan for two full days of adventuring

🌧️ Event goes ahead rain, hail or shine (rescheduled only for extreme weather)
