Featuring some of Melbourne’s best young jazz musicians, JAM Big Band explores all genres of big band, with an emphasis on contemporary jazz, fusion and funk. With moody charts by renowned composers, as well as original compositions influenced by the modern avant-garde direction of its respective players, JAM offers a unique twist on big band music not to be missed.

After its success in 2024, JAM are bringing their Latin and Afrocuban night back to The Retreat, featuring the wonderful percussionist Paolo Coladonato.

Following recent shows at Uptown Jazz Café and The Retreat Hotel, as an emerging voice in Melbourne’s underground jazz scene, JAM emphasises the importance of boundless connection aspiring to unite musicians, audience members and music into one absorbing feeling which only being there can convey.
