Footsteps: First Nations Art Tour
Enjoy a stroll through Fish Lane and see First Nations artworks with special guest artist Darren Blackman.
Join us for a relaxed lunchtime stroll through South Brisbane’s vibrant Fish Lane, where striking First Nations artworks bring the streets to life through stories of culture, history and contemporary expression. Special guest artist Darren Blackman will join us to speak about his newly installed public artwork in Fish Lane.
The tour begins in Town Square, Fish Lane with an invitation to enjoy a warm cup of lemon myrtle tea, before winding through around 5 - 8 nearby public art sites, each just a few minutes’ walk apart. We’ll conclude at Judy Watson’s Tow Row sculpture at the entrance of the Gallery of Modern Art.
Along the way, you’ll gain insight into the cultural significance of the artworks and the creative voices behind them, all set within the heart of South Brisbane’s cultural precinct.
This family-friendly experience is suitable for all ages, with brief stops and easy walking distances throughout.
