Black Rock Water Reclamation Plant community tours
Overview
Come along to Geelong鈥檚 largest water reclamation plant at Black Rock Road, Connewarre, for a FREE guided tour:
- Learn how wastewater is transformed into recycled water and biosolids.
- Find out how the site has changed since the start of Geelong鈥檚 sewerage system in 1916, and what is planned for the future.
Who: This tour is for community members of school age and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult. If you have any accessibility needs, please let us know by emailing education@barwonwater.vic.gov.au
What to wear: Enclosed shoes and clothing suitable for walking outside. We recommend long sleeved pants and top, hat and sunscreen.
What's involved: Please note the tour involves walking around 1 kilometre, with some slight inclines. Each tour will take around 50 minutes. To participate, children must be school age or older, and be under the active supervision of an adult.
Prepare to be amazed and informed, as you go behind the scenes to find out what happens after you pull the plug or flush the loo!
