Join us for a special artist talk exploring the themes, stories, and cultural connections woven throughout THREADLINES.
Featuring Aunty Jeanie Moran, Sasha Parlett and exhibiting artist Nathan mudyi Sentance, this intimate discussion invites audiences to dive deeper into the exhibition through conversation, storytelling, and shared reflection.
The talk will begin with a Welcome to Country by Aunty Jeanie, followed by a yarning-style discussion exploring the ideas, inspirations, and cultural narratives behind THREADLINES. Audiences will also have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session with the speakers before the event concludes with a spoken poem by Nathan mudyi Sentance.

Aunty Jeanie Moran

Strong sovereign woman from the east coast, this is matrilineal country, sandstone country, saltwater country, and whale country, this is Cammeragal country, my country. I have 6 songlines and 6 language groups in NSW, 4 in QLD and fifth generation of blackbirding (slavery). I am fifth generation of the Morgan family and Gadigal is my birthing place along with my mother, where I was raised and I am a custodian.
Aunty Jeanie is a respected community Elder and cultural knowledge holder who has long supported cultural learning, community connection and the sharing of First Nations knowledge across generations.
Aunty Jeanie's involvement in the exhibition provides cultural grounding and support for participating artists, ensuring the program is guided by respect, cultural responsibility and community values that honours mother earth and the creator.
Sasha Parlett
A Malayangapa and Barkindji woman; Sasha has a passion for being creative. Sasha has a wide range of experience working across many formats of filmmaking. Unleashing her creativity as a Visual Designer for a theatre production, public installations of video art and travelling art exhibitions across Australia and internationally.
Sasha grew up embedded in First Nations community. This has helped shape her as a multifaceted person and artist. Sasha founded her company Red Handed Productions in 2017 to give representation to First Nations stories in Australia and empower the development of First Nations practitioners in the corporate field of filmmaking and photography.
Sasha wants to dive further into her solo practise as an artist. She reignited her art journey when she started fine art classes at Art School Co and has since been working solely on original pieces to exhibit in group exhibitions. Sasha is well known for her skills as a documentary filmmaker and photographer due to her techniques in visual storytelling. She is ready to take her career to the next level, dedicating her time to researching new techniques and creating larger works with the goal of mounting a solo exhibition embedded in cultural artistic practise
Nathan mudyi Sentance
Wiradjuri, Mowgee clan
Living on Gaimaragal Country and working on Cammeraygal Country
Nathan mudyi Sentance is a Wiradjuri writer, librarian and cultural heritage advocate. His work across libraries, archives and museums centres on community control over cultural heritage and the right of reply within colonial collections. Through poetry and writing, Nathan explores the emotional and spiritual weight of archives, speaking back to erasure while honouring the strength and continuity of First Nations communities. His practice moves between advocacy, storytelling and cultural reflection, using writing as both resistance and care.
