A program for Victorian Year 7–10 students to explore agriculture, sustainable food systems, and innovative solutions to global challenges.

HarvestEd Victoria brings together students from across Victoria to explore the world of agriculture, sustainable food systems, and how innovation can address global challenges such as food waste and food security.

Target Audience: Victorian students in Years 7–10.
Cost: Free of cost. The program is fully funded by The William Buckland Foundation


Key Information for 2026 Cohort

Three Online Workshops (Term 2)

The program includes three online workshops delivered via Zoom in Term 2, Weeks 6–8. Each session runs from 1:00–3:00 pm (AEST) on Wednesdays.

Workshop 1: Exploring the Past, Present and Future of Farming

Workshop 2: Agricultural Innovation in Food Security and Community-Driven Change

📅 Wednesday 3 June 2026 | 1:00–3:00 pm

Workshop 3: Seeding Change – Designing Solutions for Food and Farming

📅 Wednesday 10 June 2026 | 1:00–3:00 pm


One Farm Visit Day @ Echuca (10am-2pm, Term 2)

The program includes one farm visit day (in-person) to be delivered in Echuca and surrounding areas (date TBC), in collaboration with the Lockington Landcare Network.

Participants will have the opportunity to visit a range of local farms and learn directly from farmers about current conditions, opportunities, and challenges in Victorian agriculture. The day is designed to provide hands-on, real-world insights into food and farming systems.

Transport information: Schools located outside the Echuca region are required to arrange their own transport to and from Echuca. A funded coach will be provided for on-the-day travel between farm sites once participants have arrived in Echuca.

Further details, including the confirmed date and itinerary, will be shared closer to the event.
